4th Annual Honoring Our Heroes Event

The 4th Annual Honoring Our Heroes event was a huge success thanks to the tremendous support from the Greater Boston Real Estate Industry. We had an amazing night filled with a great musical performance from Brian Scully of Dalton and the Sheriff. Commissioner Evans provided the keynote for the night and guests were also informed on the work that is being done in the Community Policing by Sgt. Samil Silta. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event, your support will allow us to continue Backing Up Boston’s Finest. Take a look at the photo gallery from the event by CLICKING HERE.

Health and Wellness Field Day

On Saturday, September 10th we held the 2nd Annual Boston Police Foundation Health and Wellness Field Day at Franklin Playstead Park. We invited members of the Boston Police Department to enjoy a day of fun while providing physical and mental health resources. Guests participated in obstacle courses, climbed rock walls and participated in carnival style games. The obstacle course was set up by the Boston Police Academy and participants were rewarded with prizes. We also had live music from the Southern City Band and a roaming magician who entertained the crowd. The Boston Police Patrolman’s Association and the Detectives Benevolent Society provided delicious food for the crowd.   We would like to thank Planet Fitness for being a sponsor for this year’s event. We would also like to thank the Boston Police Peer Support Unit, the Boston Police Academy, the Boston Police Teen Academy, the Boston Police Patrolman’s Association, the Boston Police Detectives Benevolent Society, Yogaworks Back Bay, Recycle Studio, Edward Jones and Boston Home Center for participating in the event. Take a look at the photo gallery of this year’s event below.

We are proud to announce that the Operation Hoodsie is now operational! Due to incredible support we were able to provide the Boston Police Department a brand new Ice Cream Truck to further their Community Policing initiatives. Operation Hoodsie will travel around the Boston Community handing out free Ice Cream to the residents. The Ice Cream Truck is one of Boston’s signature Community Policing Efforts and has shown an incredible impact. We are committed to assisting the department with their Community Policing efforts and will do everything we can to improve the relationships within the Community. Thank you to our supporters for giving us the opportunity to assist the BPD with this initiative.

Recent Donations Bolstering Boston Marathon Security

The Boston Police Foundation is dedicated to Backing Up Boston’s Finest but our support does not only benefit them. By supporting the Boston Police Department we are also actively working to protect the City of Boston and its residents. The Boston Marathon is one of the City’s most important events and the foundation has made recent donations to help bolster the safety of it.   The foundation provided the funding to purchase 4 canines to assist the K9 Unit. The dogs have a variety of capabilities including bomb sniffing, gun sniffing and drug sniffing. The K9 unit is instrumental to the security of large events and we are honored to be able to bolster their effectiveness.   The foundation has also approved the funding to provide food, drinks and equipment to the Boston Police Union food trucks for the Boston Marathon. Over 4,000 First Responders will be served through Marathon Monday at 7 locations throughout the Marathon Route. First responders will be able to quickly and easily get a break on their shift. The locations are conveniently located for the First Responders and will allow them to remain close in case of any emergencies.   Your support has allowed us to make these significant donations and we can’t thank you enough. Please continue to help supporting Boston’s Finest and provide them the tools and equipment needed to protect the City of Boston.  To make a donation please CLICK HERE.
