Every year, The Boston Police Department and The Boston’s Police Runner’s club host Boston’s Run to Remember on May 26th, 2019. A variety of charities from around Boston come together to honor 1st responders & Massachusetts police officers that have dedicated and lost their lives in the line of duty. This Memorial Day, Boston’s Walk to Remember returns to the Seaport to help promote giving back to the community, running for a great cause, and supporting those who help keep us safe every day.
This race has attracted over 10,000 runners representing numerous states, precincts around the country, and even around the globe.
Uniform Challenge
The Uniform challenge is a new addition to the event that allows active and retired first responders to run in their full duty uniform to honor the fallen first responders. Runners have the option of running the full half marathon or the entirety of the course in their uniform.
1st Responder Challenge
The 1st Responder challenge allows departments to form a team of five or more to compete for the best overall time of the day. The fastest 5 runners of each team will have their times’ averages together for an overall team score. The team with the fastest overall score will get the choice of donating a cash prize to a charity of their choosing.
Charity Program
While this event is to support 1st Responders and Police Organizations in Massachusetts, The Run to Remember charity program allows participants to create their own team to support any charity they desire. For more information on starting your own fundraiser for this event please visit the main Boston Run to Remember Page.
Whether you plan to run the race or want to support your city, the race starts at 7 AM on Seaport Boulevard, May 26th.
