2018 Boston Marathon Team on Crowdrise
We are honored (and just as surprised as you are) to announce that we will be running the 2018 Boston Marathon on behalf of the Boston Police Foundation; an amazing organization that we are grateful to be connected to. The 2018 race will mark five years since we witnessed firsthand one of the most horrendous days in our city’s history together. Shortly after the 2013 tragedy, I began volunteering for the Boston Police Foundation (BPF), and watched influential leaders in Boston rally together to raise awareness and funding for the BPD in the aftermath of the bombing. Now, as a member of the Board of Directors, I am especially grateful for this once in a lifetime opportunity to do our part to support the brave men and women of the Boston Police Department.
We will not be able to do this without you, and we hope you might consider sharing your encouragement and support with us. Our goal is large, and as we train for 26.2, we will also be devoting ourselves to hitting our fundraising goal for the Boston Police Department. The money we raise will support the BPF’s admirable mission of funding officer safety and wellness, community policing programs, special equipment, advanced training, and new technology not covered in the Department’s annual budget.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any amount of support you might be willing to share. We can’t wait to tackle this with you by our sides as we all work to help Back Up Boston’s Finest.
With gratitude,
Caroline & Sean
